In the past insulting another man may have resulted in a broken nose, but with people so sue happy today over everything it’s just not safe to break noses anymore. But a bb bat to the trunk? Sure, it’ll result in the batter paying a fine and or doing community service, but people need to experience consequences for their actions. I wish it was still OK to punch people. Many deserve it.

Ordinarily, consequences should be proportionate to the damage done.
Since there is no damage done when you are flipped off, grow up and walk away.
To start with, you don’t know what I’m feeling or if my feelings would be hurt under such circumstances. This making things up on your part is called magical thinking. Because you think it, it must be true. In fact, it’s not true.
Secondly, who says that consequences should be proportionate? Is this some weird law you’ve invented?
Thirdly, this isn’t about damage done. You have no clue what’s really going on, and I would suggest that you get a clue but I don’t think you can. Spiritually dead folks can’t get a clue.
