Plan B is not an abortion pill, it is a high dose of birth control. Giving out birth control pills is better than the alternatives. It means less abortions, and less tax payer money spent on teen mothers on welfare

Hey, noob - so you think that school children should be given “high dose birth control pill” that is an abortifacient (or even one that isn’t) without their parents’ knowledge or consent?

Wrongo

Plan B can prevent implantation. That means conception already took place, ergo its an abortifacient.

And if you think contraception is a fool-proof way of preventing abortions and “welfare moms”, then you better get your facts straight. The increase in contraceptive use has been directly proportional to the increase in abortions.

Also, no conservative I know would ever support a school system handing out medications without parental consent, especially medications with extreme side effect profiles. And does it not concern you that many of these students are engaging in underage sex, some of which may constitute statutory rape that the school is then complicit in covering up??

FR is the wrong forum for someone espousing your views.

Is Sandra Fluke your hero??

Ooops ! Try Again.

from this very article:

“Studies show that increased availability of contraception fails to reduce rates of unintended pregnancy and abortion,” they noted.

A study published in December by a University of North Carolina professor found that widespread use of “emergency contraception” had no effect on pregnancy or abortion rates but “led to a statistically significant increase in STD rates.”

Didn't you read the article? Go back and read it. Morning-after pills have no statistically significant effect on abortion and unexpected pregnancy.

Another lovely, elegant theory knocked down and trampled by a gang of brute facts.

I know it's counterintuitive, but let me tell you how that works:

So the physical effect of the contraceptive campaign (a few females physiologically impaired enough to avoid pregnancy) turns out to be trivial; but the social-behavioral effect is so profound it easily raises the number of girls who will expose themselves to sexual risk. Resulting in more untimely and improvident pregnancies.

Take Bronx, NY as an example. The first birth control clinics were established there about 100 years ago by Margaret Sanger and her devotees. At that time, the abortion rate was "an appalling 17 per 100 live births" (according to Emma Goldman, who, though she was a feminist/ anarchist, was indignant about it, because she saw it as evidence of the degradation of the working class.)

In the subsequent years, the Bronx has been flooded by the availability of contraception. It has been sold, given away, advocated, urged, mandated, and almost universally approved. And the result? Bronx is the county with the highest abortion rate in the United States (48% in 2011) and one of the highest rates of nonmarital childbearing (65.7% for 2009, the most recent statistic I could find.)

And ---oh, gee, who'd'a thunk it--- completely predictable soaring STD rates as well (Link).

Read it and weep.

Taken from HERE.

"Free birth control is the one good thing about Obamacare. Less unwanted babies means less abortions, less demand on welfare, lower crime rate.

Birth control should be given away on street corners, it should be a mist in the air in high schools, it should be spiked in mountain dew and sunny delight... In 15 years we’d live in a utopia.
