I heard Glenn Beck say today that Monsanto had signed on with the Agenda-21 folks.

"I heard Glenn Beck say today that Monsanto had signed on with the Agenda-21 folks."

Proponents of the Food Safety and Modernization Act (big corporations) unsuccessfully tried to stop the Tester Amendment (to let small farmers off the hook) from happening. The Act required fees that would have prevented very small farming operations and inspections that would have violated Fourth Amendment rights of those who live on their small farms (raids to enforce regulations, etc.).

Over the years, I've seen proxies of big corporations in local commissioners' meetings (county level), shutting down attempts to start small production shops. They can get really nasty about enforcing local zoning laws against new, small production starts (wood products, electronics, steel parts, automotive repair, all).

Why compete, when government can be so easily used to prevent competition from starting? IMO, that's the root of the economic problem now.

I'm not saying that everyone in big business is in bed with socialism, but there's too much of that going on. Most average investors don't even know what's going on in regards to physical production.

That's what happened in Argentina, BTW. Production there was eventually owned-up by foreign interests that influenced government too much and sucked the country dry.

Many have said that our own country's wealth will continue from energy and agricultural production without a large manufacturing base. Most of us will more likely see what a third world country looks like, when it relies so much on agriculture and energy without high levels of other production.
