Yes. And that is why this attitude (very prevalent here on FR) is why we will lose (again). It seems like FR is full of people who, if any candidate deviates in any small detail from their “received wisdom”, will not vote for him or her.
If these folks are so set in their ways, they should try to form a third party, and see how that works out for them.

We’re not talking “small details” here. We’re talking about the fact that we haven’t had a conservative candidate in 28 years from the so-called conservative party. That’s not nit-picking.
