Any number of WWII documentaries showing Nazi gatherings. Chilling is the perfect word.

Fascism is the last indigenous, popularly elected political system in Europe.

They'll be back.

Ironically, if the neo-Fascism were based on Mussolini's Italian Fascism as originally conceived before it became an ape of German Nazism it wouldn't be so bad. Ditto for the ideology of Franco or Salazar.

At the International Fascist Congress in Montreaux in December 1934 anti-Semitism was a big issue, with some parties being for it and some being adamantly against it.

Unfortunately Nazi Germany displaced Italy as the model of "fascism," so that since that time practically all "fascist" and "neo-fascist" movements have been neo-Nazi. Italy itself became officially anti-Semitic on July 14, 1938 with the publication in Italian newspapers (which Mussolini personally controlled) of the "Manifesto of the Racist Scientists," and from that moment Mussolini and his ideology became a mere parrot of Hitler. The Salo Republic was anti-Semitic, socialist, and run by the SS. And neo-Fascist movements in Italy since the war have all been based on this late, Nazified, anti-Semitic version.

Believe it or not, there are actually non-Nazi "fascist" parties in the United States, though the ideology is so alien to America they will never get anywhere. Some of them are affiliated with the Lebanese Falangists but there is also a National Syndicalist party (or used to be). But at least these parties aren't racialist.
