Yes, they were. Unfortunately, they were not prescient enough to know that there should have been an 11th amendment to the bill of rights. Term limits for Congress and the Senate. That is in my mind the single most destructive thing of our Federal government. We have created an ruling elite. Congress is bad, worst ratings in the world. But, NOT MY CONGRESSMAN!
We need to amend the constitution and make term limits for non only the President but for Representatives and Senators!!
I'll disagree; the 11th should be that the federal government could not pass law excepted any of its agents from the law's effect.
