I may be old fashioned about this in the practicality and trust sense, but I don’t think the CIA nor the NSA needs to fess up about such things with the understanding any activity is strictly for national security. Forcing the hand of these agencies will either make it a “legal” necessity permitting more of the same on a much larger scale, or an “illegal” impossibility subject to greater oversight and, therefore, much less needed intel.

“Again IMHO the only secure method of communicating does not include the use of a computer. Encryption of any type doesn’t help when they have the master key. Sounds paranoid but then I’ve been been around stuff you normally read about in a Tom Clancy novel.”

Thanks for posting your information. I recall you and I had useful conversation about electricity/solar panels/batteries on one of our prepper threads. When driftdiver posts, I listen.

“FR is one of the sites they also monitor.”

I figured they did. Hope they learn how to survive an emergency by reading our prepper threads. I am so old they probably think I’m dead anyway.

“If a (Software) tool is commissioned and paid for by the government, then the misuse of that tool (for partisan political gain) is most assuredly against the law, or should be.”

Not if it’s out there for the public to use. Super Pacs have the money to pay for mining for political reasons. Also, the govn. put money in to develop the internet but we all use it.

No, you are flat-out wrong.

First, you're begging the question, ARE these software tools, authored by the government, available to the public? I contend they are not, certainly not the high-caliber ones employed by the CIA, NSA, and the like.

Second, public availability of a given Federal resource does not excuse the Federal government employing the same resource in a politically partisan way. There are specific laws prohibiting the use of Federal property or appropriated funds for partisan political purposes.

“ARE these” is the question and we don't know that answer. We are stopped right there until we know that.

I just sent you Freepmail about a certain state.

Just to offset the doom and gloom, Republicans are doing great at the state and local level.

The GOPe can KMA, though.

Yes, they are and many are standing up to Hussein’s push to take our guns, limit guns we can buy, and all the rest. There are 30+ states with R governors. I think they are our life line right now.

That bill they have in their Senate and one like it in their House, is spectacular - I laughed and laughed and thought how grand that was.

The temptation will be irresistible to use Social Network Analysis (SNA) to plan a “decapitation strike” against “enemy” political groups.
