"Senate Judiciary chair rejects Dianne Feinstein's assault weapons ban"

Since Feinstein's bill outlaws anything and everything up to and including "the shoulder thing that goes up", it's more a liberal's opium dream.

(True, like many I thought the same thing about Obamacare, but the libs had a supermajority when they passed that.)

I would not put it past Leahey to use the Sandy Hook backlash to get the camel's nose further into the tent with some so-called "common sense" legislation, like universal background checks or magazine capacity limits.

IMHO...44 is gonna use things like Fienstien’s bill dying in committee and more and more states passing legislation to not enforce his recent EO’s as an excuse to make a blatant gun grab by fiat.

Something along the lines of:

“Since Congress has failed to act...and since states are REFUSING to act...I’ve been left with no choice but to sign an Executive Order here by stopping all sales distribution and manufacturing of the types of weapons listed in Senator Fienstien’s legislation. In addition, I am requesting that Homeland Security aid local law enforcement in the collection of these same types of weapons from the people that own them. The safety of our children can not and will not be hindered by antiquated and time wasting debates about the 2nd Amendment and the Constitution.”
