In light of our embassy bombing in Turkey this morning, John Bolton said that if we dont face up to the reality that the war on terror isnt over and that Al Qaeda hasnt been defeated, well see even more bombings from terrorists that are more successful in their eyes.
The war on terror is not over. Al Qaeda has not been defeated. The struggle is spreading and if we dont face up to that reality were going to have another attack on an American embassy that will be even more successful from the terrorist point of view.
We have not strategy! Thats why Ive been so concerned that the whole sweep from the Atlantic coast of West Africa, through the Middle East, all the way over to Pakistan is deteriorating from the perspective of the United States and its close allies Israel, Arab countries in the region. The threat of terrorism, the threat of insurrection, the threat of the Iranian nuclear weapons program all growing with no effective response from America or the West.

Response?
The Obama administration’s idea of response is to
talk about holding talks with Iran so they can talk
about Iranian demands.
This man needs to be president.
It is impossible to defeat an enemy when your own government is arming them and your president provides them with safety and comfort in your own country.
Sad to think that had the election gone the other way, this man could have been Sec of State instead of John F’ing Kerry.
I wonder how the arab world would react if Bolton were in charge. The more I see of this guy, the more I like him.
Thank God we didn’t elect a Mormon, eh?
This is not the best case for a WoT argument, as the group responsible for this was a “reactionary, left wing communist throwback to the 1970s terrorist group.”
They are totally unrelated to al Qaeda, and are closer to the old (long defunct) Baader-Meinhof Red Army Faction gang in Germany.
It was reported last night on a foreign new network (I think it was NHK) that the bomber belonged to a left wing Turkish group that is anti NATO. In other words, a commie.
We have a strategy. We put a Muslim in office.
Loosing a war can be a strategy.
We need a little more history here or links to some.....the only thing I remember about the Badder-Meinhof Gang was when the Palestinians sent a list and asked Germany for their release. The story goes, that Germany said sadly they had all hung themselves, can you send another list....or something like that.
In your post you are referring to the PKK. A Kurdish communist group that was around (and shot at me) when I lived in Turkey (circa 1976).
I wouldn't be so quick to believe it was them. They do have some loose ties to al-Quaeda, and don't use suicide bombers (or haven't in the past).

"The Mouse That Roared" strategy only works well when you have a opponent that will engage in "nation building" when they win.
Hillary! Izzat you?
I'm sooo BUSTED!
I know you will still vote for me in 2016.

Of course!
What difference does it make?
Strategy is a Bush thing, and, we don’t do Bush things. We do speech reads.
