Let’s not forget Sarah Palin got this guy elected.

I call major league BS!

Yes, Palin's endorsement helped, but a lot of us Texans, including many Freepers, worked our butts off through the primary, runoff and general election to get Ted Cruz into office as OUR Senator.

You are obviously NOT a Texan, because if you were you would not have made such an asinine statement!

I obviously AM a Texan, born an raised, and Dewhurst was winning until Palin endorsed him. Cruz was in the wilderness until she came to town. I was here, I watched it every day, I eat, sleep, and drink, politics, so I can tell you he wouldn't have made it without her. Cruz was my guy from the get go. Cruz was stuck at 30% and the establishment money was for Dewhurst.

I guess I could take credit cause I'm a Republican Tea Party supporter that has been a Freeper for decades, but my one vote and the 2 other votes of my family is all I can offer. I think Palin can offer much more than a few Freepers.

I think you think you are a little more important than you really are.

I call BS myself. I was on the Texas TP conference call when Palin pulled herself into it. Without her help, all of our efforts couldn’t have pulled it off against the Dewhurst machine. I certainly give Free Republic and everybody else the credit due, but without all pulling together we couldn’t have single-handedly pulled it off. What’s the big deal of trying to pull down one of our staunchest supporters through that whole march to a win. What good does it do to try to diminish Palin’s role in it.

By the way, do you have any idea how much money she brought to Cruz with her endorsement as well as throwing in some of her own?

Mark Levin was, (is) a big Cruz supporter.

This is like the debate whether the infantry is more important than the air force. They both have a critical role. Cruz was not within striking distance until Sarah gave him the air cover he needed. And if I recall, he was more than willing to give her credit for conspicuous aid right when he needed it. Why begrudge her the credit she is due? And I’m sure if you ask her, she’d be just as happy to credit the ground troops for their indispensable contribution. Like Red Green says, we’re all in this together.

Texan here. Just anecdotal, but I got ten to twelve rather fair-weather Republican voters to show up at the primary and vote for Cruz, based entirely on Palin’s endorsement. They were not going to bother with voting in the primary up until I informed them about this.

Are you new to following politics? That’s okay - - stick around here and you’ll learn plenty. Sarah Palin’s endorsement of Cruz launched him past the establishment favorite, Dewhurst. Had you been following the race back then, you wouldn’t even question that.

FRegards, and have fun learning and growing,
