Once again Obama proves himself an ignorant fool. Even the "first Americans" (who should rightfully be called "first immigrants") came "from somewhere else".....specifically northeast Asia. The only real "native Americans" are those born here...no matter what their ancestry.
My oldest daughter had the answer to that crap when she was in high school.
As a little kid one time before St. Patrick's day, she asked me if we were Irish. I told her then that yes, some of her ancestors came from Ireland, but others came from other places and that she, her parents, her grandparents and even beyond that were all born in America, and that she was just an American, nothing else. I guess that stuck with her. We never really talked about it again.
Fast forward years later in a high school civics class she came home and told me she might be in trouble at school. I asked her what happened and she explained. It was toward the end of the year and the teacher after doing all the politically correct stuff they do on history and civics went around the class room asking the kids what 'nationality' they were. The typical answers came from the kids before my daughter... Irish, Italian, Polish... etc.
When he got to my daughter, I guess she remembered what I had told her when she was a little kid, and she said "I'm an American."
He said are you an Indian? She said no, but he had taught her that the Indians came to America 10,000 years ago from Asia, and her ancestors came here later from other places, but that she was born here, her parents and grandparents and great grandparents were born here, and then she asked... "How long do you have to be here to be a Native American?"
With that, she said the entire class cracked up and all the other kids said, ya, we're Native Americans too. The teacher lost control because he had no answer to that question.
As for me, I'm a Native American.... Even if I don't have a casino license. ;~))
I’ve been surprised, myself, by the tumbleweeds rolling across the prairies of lefty antiwar protesters on the issue of drone strikes. Okay, so I’ve heard Ralph Nader go after Obama, and grumbles here and there. They don’t like it when libs inevitably act like what they think only Pubs act like as commander in chief. But somehow he’s not an insane, criminal, bloodthirsty, nazi vampire like Bush.
Remember what a big deal assassination was back in the Carter years? How the CIAs humbling stupidity in multiple attempts on Castro’s life, and such, embarrassed us further, if that was possible in the post-Vietnam hangover. Isn’t it still illegal? I don’t remember Congress ever reversing itself, nor SCOTUS giving a green light. But here we are; Obama may dispatch robots to blow people up at whim. American citizens, even, and doesn’t have to worry about international law, due process, or anything like that. The courts don’t have to let in on whatever cause it is the White House claims to have. It’s all, “Trust us, we had good reason. Can’t tell you about. You know, executive privilege. Bye-bye, now.”
Which is new, somewhat, in that such precise strikes weren’t so matter of course before. But the general thrust is completely in line with the secrecy if and deference to the executive branch of the National Security State since Truman. It’s just strange to see libs so mum.
Merde du jour. more like it!
They are sheep and do as they are told. When Communist Party USA told the ranks to protest on behalf of Hitler (who signed a pact with their dearly beloved Joseph Stalin), they did so.
Been awhile since I've seen trolls happen across FR threads, what with the 'lection over an' all.
According to L-Ron Mother Hubbard, it was Xenu who brung us here!
Yeah, that was funny, or maybe scary. It is well dramatized by Orwell in “1984” when Big Brother changes what country they’re at war with in the middle of a mass yelling at the enemy. Joke was on them, as they had to switch right back when Hitler broke up with Uncle Joe.
137 replies so far. I wonder how many more times on this thread we are going to learn about the shocking discovery that, READY? that the first residents of this continent came from Siberia or some such place?
Makes ya wanna follow Melas out the door!
(And how did they get to Siberia and from where? Until it becomes common knowledge we won’t hear from Captain Obvious, I guess.)
