As a group of senators unveil their bipartisan proposal for immigration reform today and President Obama heads west this week to rally support for his own ideas, a separate bipartisan group of lawmakers in the House of Representatives is on the verge of finalizing its own designs for comprehensive immigration reform.
The discussions, which top aides close to the talks discussed on the condition that they not be identified, are described as Washingtons best-kept secret.
Last week, House Speaker John Boehner spilled the beans on the secret group, revealing that the lawmakers had been meeting for three or four years now and that they are almost ready to present their proposals publicly.

Let the Rats win 2014 because it’s what we have already.
Amnesty not only rewards breaking our laws, disrespecting those who have come here legally and burdening an already overloaded social program budget but it will insure Democrat rule in both houses and the Exec Branch essentially forever.
Secret groups in government need to be eliminated.
Kevin Brady (rINO-TX) has crossed over to the dark side.
Illegal aliens are government growth hormone.
30 million illegals is enough to create some 50 new primarily democrat congressional districts with all the costs, pork, earmarks, entitlements, and liberal votes associated with them.
Anyone who supports amnesty and calls themselves a conservative is a liar.
RINOs who vote for Lawbreakers will be targeted for removal in the Primary.
Candice Miller used to be tough on immigration and even led the charge to exclude illegals from the census because they impact the political landscape simply by being here.
Notice how everything has to be done in secret committee now. Why bother to elect senators or congressmen. Only 6-8 of them ever get to have a say.
We now have govt by committee which is an Oligarchy. Not a Representative Republic.
Thank goodness we have more secret legislation. Where would we be without it.
We can't win, why even try.
Let's just give up.
If we can't have it all, let's quit.
It's the rinos fault, attack them instead of the marxists.
Benishek was a tea party candidate who behaves as if he couldn’t wait to sell out once he got to Washington. We expected it from some and they need to be replaced.
Why have a Congress if all it takes is 8-15 of the group for anything to ‘get done’??
Where are the Mitt backers now? You know, the ones that were crying that the House would be the break vs. Mitt’s agenda?...Rhetorical, I know.
America 2013 - a nation of powerful men making laws in secret.
“John Boehner spilled the beans on the secret group, revealing that the lawmakers had been meeting for three or four years now”
So we have a secret revolutionary government now. THis had to be in secret because they know they are about to do something we oppose. Bastards.
The Republicans will go down in history as the party that could have stopped the destruction of the greatest nation the world has ever seen but, instead chose to stand back and watch it happen.
Absolutely! I am completely disgusted with not only him, but his protege, Ed McBroom. Conservative, my A**!!!!
18 RINO votes = Permanent control of the WH, Senate, and House by the demoncrats/marxists.
Time to send in the substitute for the ballot box...
