Prominent republicans had better get used to the idea that they will get elected to squat if they continue to ignore their base. The illegals will never vote for them, as Senator McAmnesty how it worked out for him to be carrying their water for years and have them totally bury him at the polls.

McCain never learns...

Flashback:

McCain loses temper with Hispanic immigration activists (April 2009)

"McCain’s message was obvious, the source continued: After bucking his party on immigration, he had no sympathy for Hispanics who are dissatisfied with President Obama’s pace on the issue. “He threw out [the words] ‘You people — you people made your choice. You made your choice during the election,’ ” the source said. “It was almost as if [he was saying] ‘You’re cut off!’ We felt very uncomfortable when we walked away from the meeting because of that.”

I have come to the conclusion that the GOPe don't mind being the minority. In fact, they kind of prefer it. They still get the perks and benefits, and they can occasionally make noise. They don't have to work as hard, reading and writing bills and such. They still get a turn at the $money trough. And, at the end of the day, they can join their good friends from across the aisle for drinks and laughs.

They quit representing their constituents long ago. Once they get to Washington, they get infected with Potomac Fever and it is usually incurable.
