I live in San Mateo and I hate it. The City Council here is as liberal as they come and they just love their “Affordable Housing” and “Transit Oriented development” so much that they are in the process of destroying my neighborhood that has been here since the 50’s
I don't go to any of the restaurants in Down town San Mateo because you have to pay for parking which they just raised.

Sorry to hear that. I guess radical liberalism is creeping down there from SF. Point I'm making is that at least in SM county you can get reasonable parking right at the restaurant. In SF, you can't find parking anywhere close unless willing to shell out around $20 (or more). Many restaurants on the peninsula have their own free lots. Others have city parking lots within a half block that'll cost a buck or two (or less). We often dine in So.SF, Burlingame and Millbrae, very pleasant. Dining in San Francisco is now a nightmare. Can't stand the prices, crowds, lack of parking, charging for bags, etc.
