My question - the one never asked - Who ordered the “stand down” that got Americans killed?
The American military staged in Sicily because of the ongoing terrorist attack at Benghazi, Lybia ready for the word to go. Only one person can authorize them to cross international borders on such a mission, the President of the United States.
An order to stand down was not necessary.
If they did not get the authorization to go, they just do not go.
