Michael Owen Snider
Michael Owen Snider, 70, of Stone Mountain, Ga., was arrested on January 24, 2013, after allegedly going on an alcohol-fueled hit-and-run rampage that spanned two counties, left 17 vehicles smashed in 15 separate accidents and 1 person dead. Witnesses say they were rammed repeatedly and intentionally, and are thankful to be alive.
Snider had started in DeKalb County, driving down Highway 78 allegedly hitting cars in his 2006 Ford Super Duty pickup truck when he nearly collided with a police cruiser in Gwinnett County that happened to be in the area late on January 23. Witnesses said that Snider was intentionally ramming other vehicles on the road as he drove by. Witness Dennis Brown told 11 Alive, I was at the light over there and I looked in my rear view and I saw this big pickup truck, like a Ford F-350 or something like that, he intentionally tried to hit me, so thats when he chased me, literally he chased me, on the road. It was like a video game. Really, I couldnt believe he was trying to do that. Other witnesses corroborated Browns statement that Snider was intentionally hitting the other drivers on the road. Victims Jenetta and Manuel Johnson were terrified by what sounded more like attempted vehicular homicide than simple drunken driving. Describing the encounter for reporters, Jenneta Johnson said she feared for her life, I just thought we were going to die. I just knew he was going to kill us. He would not stop hitting us. He was just ramming us and ramming us, and then he hit the gas and went around. Police are still piecing together the events of that night, trying to figure out just how many collisions Snider may have caused.
Sniders spree came to a tragic end in Snellville when he reportedly hit a Toyota Camry so hard that it hit the stopped car in front of it and kept going, getting wedged under the trailer of a tractor trailer, while the stopped car hit another car. Snider lost control of his pickup and crashed into a John Boys Restaurant.
Snider was stopped trying to flee the scene, and then, complaining of minor injuries, was examined at a hospital before being booked by Snellville police for driving under the influence, vehicular homicide, serious injury by vehicle, following too closely and reckless driving. Police say there are more charges on the way.
Sadly a grandmother riding in the Camry, Mintiwab Woldeyhans, 69, of Loganville, was killed in the crash. The driver of the Camry sustained life-threatening injuries and is in critical condition. Snider, who is being held without bond, was told what had happened when he sobered up, and reportedly required counseling at that time.
Sounds like we need some “common sense” liquor law (whoops...)
Its an assault pickup.
Nobody needs more than a Nissan Leaf to go where they need to go.
Ban assault trucks.
Having just driven thru Hot’Lanta last night on I-85 (around 9pm)...there’s not a lot of difference between this guy and the Peaches on the road at that hour.
It was barely controlled chaos. Atlanta traffic will have it’s own chapter in the history books.
Some of these killing machines have multiple fuel tanks and carry 60 gallons of fuel or more.
Nobody needs that.
HOLD MUH BEER AND WATCH THIS?
Would hate to be accused of ‘profiling’ BUT this boy ain’t turned down many drinks in his illustrious career.
Wonder how many trees would have to die in order to publish his driving record? -
Hell, he probably has a rap sheet bigger than that -
There is that nasty profiling BUT
“A picture IS worth a thousand worlds”.
This SOB needs to be EXECUTED....he deliberately murdered somone with his drunk spree
If you read the article you should realize that what he needs is more counseling.
Then I drove in Denver.
I walk to work here in Buckhead. Crossing Piedmont rd, at the cross walk, is a dare.
At the very least, he dyed his hair...
A co-worker has had Caddies his whole life and recently got a Nissan leaf due to economics. He says his wife is about blind and hates it because when they are passed by a semi on the interstate, it feels like the car is going to blow around like a leaf in a storm (don't know if she or he got the pun). He's been a hard-core Democrat his whole life, but I think I'm having an effect. He recently carped about Obama's recent "we're all created equal so love them homosexuals real good" speech. He also said he never believed he would see the day when the People would need to rise up against a government gone rogue, but can now envision seeing blood in the streets during his lifetime 9(he's 60).
Sumbitch. Where’s Burt Reynolds?
The boys are thirsty in Atlanta
and there’s beer in Texarkana,
and we’ll bring it back no matter what it takes!
East bound and down, loaded up and truckin’,
a’we gonna do what they say can’t be done.
We’ve got a long way to go, and a short time to get there,
I’m east bound just watch ol’Bandit run!
Check out Seattle at 5:00 p.m. on a Friday afternoon on a sunny summer day! Place is a total lunatic of a madhouse. I’d rather walk. We passed a guy doing 70 MPH on I-5, reading a newspaper spread out over the steering wheel.
1. Jack up jail
2. Shove this jerk as far underneath as you possibly can
Looking at the bend in his nose, he’s angered someone enough at some point in his life that their right hook pushed his nose over a bit.
