Openly Gay, and Openly Welcomed in Congress
The New York Times ^ | 1/26/2013 | Jeremy W. Peters

WASHINGTON — When Mark Takano ran unsuccessfully for Congress twice in the early 1990s, his opponents tried to smear him as a “homosexual liberal” and a “nutzoid.” One of them even had pink fliers printed that asked, “A Congressman for Riverside ... Or San Francisco?”

When he ran again last year, he won by almost 20 points. “Flash forward 18 years,” Mr. Takano said recently, “and the very macho building tradesmen are behind me. I’m getting pictures with them in their hard hats.”

For decades, the words “gay” and “Congress” were usually seen together only in stories of scandal and shame: an arrest after an illicit proposition in an airport bathroom, accusations of trawling for sex on a phone service. When Gerry E. Studds came out 30 years ago, the first congressman to do so, it was only after an affair with a 17-year-old Congressional page was revealed.

But in the 113th Congress there are six openly gay or bisexual members in the House — a small but tangible sign that their presence at the highest levels of government is no longer something only whispered about. The Senate has its first lesbian, Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin. The lawmakers’ partners, no longer relegated to the shadows or introduced generically as “friends,” stood beside them on the House floor when they were sworn in this month. Their adopted children are attending Congressional retreats.

I assume Walker got elected on a statewide ballot and this guy is in a liberal district.
In Indiana we got Mike Pence as governor and Black Muslim Andre Carson as rep from Indianapolis central district.

I don't get that. Is he really a heterosexual conservative? If both things are true, how can it be a smear?

Someone show me those pictures. I want to know what construction worker is excited to be photographed with a sodomite.

Corruption, a result of mental disorder -once hidden, now out of the shadows -remains corruption.

Only the depraved leftist mind celebrates this open corruption as 'progress'.

I don’t know if Tammy Baldwin is the first lesbian senator, but she will definitely turn out to be the most radical. Obama will look like Barry Goldwater next to her.

You guys don’t get it. The real winners here are the Human Rights Council, Lesbian and Gay Victory Fund, GLAAD, GLSEN and the thousands of other rich, well-funded and incessantly lobbying organizations.

Power is power. These organizatrions want power and money, and they are getting it by using the ‘poor victim’ meme, the ‘civili rights’ meme and the usual ‘more intelligent and sophisticated people support gay rights’ schtik.

they lobby incessantly, the are active 24/7 in taking over mainstream churches (and therefore mainstream church property), now they have fastened on what they see as a money pile in the Armed Services. These organizations colonize. They take over organizations from the top and put their own in well-paid position, lobby for yet more money from the federal government.

they try to keep the people’s attention on *gay individuals* but *indivudals* are merely stalking horses.

They arrrange for really goodlooking gays and lesbians to be in front of the camera. My guess is that the big organizations pay for clothes and make-up sessions. they now pretty well own television and academia. But they want more, always more.

Power is power. Groups organize for power and some groups will get it anyway they can.

She’s a U.S. senator so her and Walker were on the same ballot.

Tammy Baldwin has only been elected statewide once, in November 2012, when Scott Walker was not on the ballot (Walker was elected in November 2012 and won the recall vote in the spring or summer of 2012). Believe me, Baldwin won with a much different electorate than Walker did.

And you just watch ... one of these creatures (my money’s on Baldwin) will be the first LGBT-whatevers on a Presidential ticket.

Well, what can one say after watching the political class of elitist morons pedestalizing this wretched gaggle of anus worshippers?

They don’t care that this bunch represents the lowest form of human life due to the ways they achieve their filthy orgasms. They don’t care that in their ‘lovemaking’ they ingest fecal matter, then wonder why they contract a disease that is incurable and usually fatal?

They don’t care that most, if not all, are truly insane a condition brought about by having to look at their disgraced face (disgraced only in their eyes it would seem) and wonder about their sordid lives. Proof of their insanity is in reviewing the lives of the infamous serial killers. All were homosexuals.

They don’t care that in their abetting this disgraceful and sinful style of sexual relations that they themselves are committing a mortal sin by their apparent aquiescing.

Boner, with a defecation-eating grin on his face, is smiling because he know that as soon as the cameras stop rolling he can shove a round white thing in his mouth.

Baldwin is out to get the Knights of Columbus tax exemption pulled for supporting the Sacrament of Marriage.

I think she’s sneakier than that. She’s very ambitious. I think she considers herself a future candidate to be the first homosexual president.
