Police hunt for women after brawl at social services is caught on tape
Police are on the hunt for four women who were caught on video in a massive brawl that broke out on line at a social services offices earlier this week in East St. Louis, Illinois.
According to witnesses, the fight started over a disagreement between several women in line.
In the video, you can see four women pushing, shoving and fists flying before security managed to separate the women.
The women left before police arrived. But East St. Louis Police Chief Michael Floore says that doesn't mean they'll get away, reportsABC.
Floore says he's confident the women will come back to the benefits office, because it's the only unemployment benefit office in town.
'If they don't come and register, now they don't get the Link card, or whatever they normally get.'
The security guards have been instructed to detain anyone they recognize from Tuesday's brawl until police arrive.
One witness told FOX2 it began as a dispute over a place in line.
East St. Louis Mayor, Alvin Parks, called for metal detectors in light of the recent climate of mass shootings.
‘Yeah, I`m shocked man. I`m shocked,’ said past client Detria Graves said to Fox2 as he watched the video.
‘Definitely something needs to be done, it`s ridiculous,’ said DeShanea Stevenson, who visits the office often with her 3-year-old son. ‘They just do that all the time, at the aid office. That`s what happens. It`s like nobody really cares.’
Graves told Fox she was surprised the altercation grew out of hand.
‘It`s just been cool, everybody standing in line, doing what they do, trying to get their stamps, trying to get, you know, whatever they`re trying to get.
