I guarantee you not one republican senator will question the SOB on his slanderous comments in 1971, or his meeting with the enemy while American GIs were still dying in Vietnam, in the bush and POW camps. It is outrageous that this sorry SOB will be the next Sec of Defense. I was in SEA when all this was going on and I remember it like it was yesterday. Kerry IS THE REASON that we were all labeled as baby killers and mentally deranged killers when we came back to the states. And all those damn movies showing us all as mentally deranged lunatics and pot-smoking zombies. I didn’t know anybody like that. The men that I served with were some of the finest men I have ever known. Not being allowed to wear my uniform when I got a civilian flight out of SF; because someone might take offense to it! Other than the isolated case at Mai Lai I never heard of war crimes being committed. And if not for Colin Powell trying to cover it up that would have came out earlier. We busted our asses and fought that war the best we could. We were good to the locals. I still send money to an orphanage after all these years. Hell, alot of us do. And I did my tour, two of them to be exact. I didn’t rotate back to the states after four months, which was not even enough time to get credited for a short tour.
