The Utah Sheriffs Association has sent a letter to President Barack Obama warning him its members will not allow guns to be taken from the states residents.
No government jurisdiction has made such a threat, however, the association acted in response to Obamas recent proposals about ways to reduce gun violence in the nation, said Grand County Sheriff Steve White, one of 28 sheriffs who support the Jan. 17 letter.
White said the association wants to send the message that any changes in gun laws should be done through legislation, not by executive order. Approving the letter is an example of free speech rights, White added.
Every sheriff has the right to speak and do what they think is best for their constituents, he said. The sheriff said he will be glad to discuss the issue with anyone who wants to call his office.

“No federal official will be permitted to ... take from them what the Bill of Rights ... has given them ...”
ERROR! Guaranteed them, not given. The Bill of Rights gives you nothing.
I want a bumper sticker to say:
A Police State is a Safe State
Sad to see that Salt Lake City is just like other big cities in the country. Oh well, Utah has only one turd in the sheriff’s punchbowl. Good for Utah, their sheriffls are leading the way. Probably better than any of the other states, including Texas!
Note to Texans:” Where is your “Sheriff’s List?”
There are 58 counties in California. There are twelve California Sheriff’s on the list thus far.
Wonder how much longer Winder will be sheriff ?
