Sounds like the NRA and GOA need to start selling Auto, home, gun insurance policies.
The precedent is now set and confirmed by SCOTUS that the Federal Behemoth has absolute control and authority over mandating who, what, why, where and when of insurance.
That is what the “Legality” of ObamaCare was ultimately decided upon.
Insurance is now a product of government mandates. So, good luck anyone trying to capitalize on what in the old days would have been a great opportunity.
My homeowners-business insurance policy for the 20ac Family Farm is $2,150/mo ($1.1mm) and I’ve been insured by the same Penna company, NOT Geico, for 30yrs. No claims.
They want an add’l $1,850/mo to insure an appraised $165k of choice firearms (incl 5 Class IIIs), massive 2.5-Ton Cannon T-65 dbl-door safe and LOTS of ammo.
They also claim that firearms and jewelry are “high risk loss” items, even though my security is 100% impenetrable w/ redundant back-ups.
I’ll be selling the Family Farm Complex this summer and moving into a house anyway, so if I get a similar notice, I can move the safe/firearms/ammo to another location, in case any inspection occurs.
Good idea. The rates would likely be lower because of a better (lower) risk clientele.
Actually, the NRA already does.
