Senate hearing: 9:00a.m. EST. House hearing: 2:00 p.m. EST
Watch live here. Also on C-SPAN 3.
In her first testimony since the Benghazi attack, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will participate in a full day of hearings Wednesday about U.S. diplomatic security and the American mission in Libya.
Sec. Clinton will appear before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in the morning followed by an afternoon testimony to the House Foreign Affairs Committee. In December, the State Department's highest ranking foreign service officers, William Burns and Thomas Nides, testified before Congressional lawmakers in the Secretary's place. They discussed a new report by an independent panel assessing the Benghazi attack.
Deputy Sec. Nides put several recommendations from a report on the attack into effect before the end of 2012. Implementing the rest, Nides said, will be underway by the time the next Secretary of State takes office. Three State Department officials have resigned since the report was released.
The two officials were substituting for Secretary Clinton, who was recovering from a concussion she suffered after fainting due to dehydration from a stomach virus.
Four Americans were killed in that attack, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens. Congress is investigating whether the State Department denied a request for extra security at that outpost earlier in the year and what actions were taken in the moments after the attack began.
My God, she’s giving them her wish list..... this is going to be an epic waste of time and tax payer dollars.
What’s with all the fist shaking?
At the top there are a few smart assed commies running things. Below mostly idiots as you say.
2014 and 2016 are everything. Lets hope we get some traction.
We have to stop expecting fair and balanced out of thec DBM it ain’t gonna happen.
Yes, apparently Rubio doesn’t have the ambition people hoped.
Why sufficient military/security resources weren’t there for the ambassador or available to rescue him is the only question and no one will ask it.
Could Rand Paul really ask some of the important questions that need answers? Please Paul ask them!
I hope liberals are happy with the way their people have managed to spread this war halfway around the planet.
Everybody knew this would be a dog-and-pony show. The Republican Party is an embarrassment and we all know that too.
This isn't about being an opposition party. It's about trying to find the truth. So far it looks like the Republican Party is competing for hiding space in the weeds with the Democrats.
For family members of the deceased, that has to be the cruelest cut of all. Nobody who is elected seems to give a damn.
WHO are they?
Where are they?
Why havent we heard a single word from them?
Sorry, cannot watch, but curious.
Will McCain grow a pair?
Repeat ad nauseum...
Trey Gowdy is my favorite. Rubio is a total wimp just like Romney. They need to transform themselves into democrats for this and act like the dems do when they are grilling republicans. What a bunch of wimps. Truly pitiful, but not surprising at all.
Ron Johnson (R) is trying to pin her down, but she is slick in her answers. Plenty of prep time to prepare her answers. Trying to get answers on the video. SHe is getting mad.
