Bernalillo County Sheriff Dan Houston and one of his top investigators said during a news conference this morning that 15-year-old Nehemiah Griego had been planning violence for at least a week.
Investigators are still trying to determine who, if anyone, he told about his plans. Among those detectives are considering as someone who may have known is Griegos 12-year-old girlfriend.
~~snip~~
Houston said that although he has numerous arrests in his past, it does not appear Greg Griego was a convicted felon.
[Sheriffs Lt. Sid] Covington said it appears some of the guns owned by Greg Griego including possibly those used in the killings had been purchased by Greg Griegos friends and then either sold or given to the pastor. BCSO is working with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to trace the history of those guns, as well as the two pistol-grip 12-gauge shotguns that were found in the Griegos home ...

Nehemiah then waited for five hours in a downstairs bathroom for his father to come home. When Greg Griego walked into the house, his son ambushed him, shooting him multiple times with the AR-15, the statement said.

Throw him in a lab, study him, then do away with the carcass after. Keep the brain I guess for later.
So this wasn’t a mass murder by a person with an AR-15. He used a .22 on the rest of the family. He only killed one person with the AR-15...that belonged to someone else. Presumably his father.
This monster wasn’t made overnight.
“This monster wasnt made overnight.”
Some monsters aren’t made; they’re born.
The apparent fact that this couple has 9 other children, who have no publicized history of any violence or problem, would indicate to me that this one wasn’t “made.”
Indeed, four killed with the .22 rifle. Reported yesterday that the guns were in kept in a closet at the home.
Well, there's your problem right there. It's a dangerous mix of the BATFE and dueling hand grips.
A 12 year old was his girlfriend? Wow.

The dead eyes of a psychopath.
he seemed like a normal kid, but was inhabited by a demon.
Theis latest rash of shootings should be a wakeup call to parents. Do not assume that your silent/antisocial/violent/scheming kid is OK.
The only thing under assault is constitutional rights by "assault-style" journalism.
According to ABC radio news, the kid was really into violent video games like Call of Duty etc.
They have the killer and the guns he used so why are the police wasting time tracking down the origin of the other guns? My guess is that those pigs are going to try and hang a crime around the neck of whaterver poor shlub sold or gave the guns to the Pastor. That will teach those proles not to sell guns to one another.
They will use it to bolster the 40% fantasy to get “100% background checks” on transfers.
Plus go after the original owners in multiple civil suits.
It’s only relevant that there was ar AR platform within a 15 mile radius of the event. No other firearms are to be mentioned. And, someone knew of this kids mind set. And, nothing was done. So why even mention a person in reporting? Just simplify things and say a gun went on a rampage and killed a family. Oddly, 100’s of millions of firearms didn’t do anything wrong yesterday. So for the .001% (or is it .0001%) of the ones that did act out, we MUST punish the rest.
Houston shooting? Doesn’t this all seem a little odd? “Whatever it takes”
This little POS should get a quick trial and an even quicker execution. Screw this darlings age. Let the remaining family members beat him to death. AND NO, I'M NOT BEING SARCASTIC!
Ah yes. Here's one of them.
The problem is literally (I'm not exaggerating) EVERY SINGLE 15 year old male in the developed world is into violent video games. Thus every single one that commits a crime will have been into them. Just as every single one that commits a crime will have worn pants. Doesn't mean wearing pants causes violence.
Not this nonsense again. You're taking pictures of KNOWN likely psycopaths and "judging" their eyes.
You'd be a complete failure at picking out a psychopath's picture out of 9 othe pictures of non-psychopaths, as long as you didn't know which one was the psycopath beforehand.
S&W, Ruger, and Mossberg (and probably others) make an AR-15 clone that shoots .22 longs. Are we sure these no-nothings aren’t talking about the same weapon, and not two different rifles? Just curious.
BINGO !
The dad was convicted felon. Why did he have any guns in the house ?
Why were they not locked up ? !
Sooooooo cute when they’re sleeping. Oh, wait. That’s kids and puppies. But it doesn’t even look like it’s breathing. Maybe you better check on it and see if it’s okay. I just checked mine and they seem to resting comfortably. I don’t think they can sneak out at night since they are usually locked in a safe in a closet. (Is that gun abuse????) Except the 38 Super in the nightstand. It might be able to sneak out while we’re sleeping.
Molon labe.
Actually, it was Grand Theft Auto. I agree that such games don’t affect all kids. Just the sickos.
He’s of age to be treated as an adult. He’ll probably be kept out of the big boy prison for a couple years but after that he’ll be quite popular behind bars. NM did away with the death penalty in 2009 under that bozo Gov. Bill Richardson.
According to report at link the father was NOT a felon
without knowing what his arrest were for it is a non issue could of been for anything
a responsible person locks up their guns.
Label me Irresponsible then.
I don’t think any of these shooters yet had the lawful possession of firearms.
Label me Irresponsible then.
Have you never heard : 10) Store guns so they are not accessible to unauthorized persons. I guess you have self-identified as an irresponsible gun owner.
I think you are correct.
Really.
I have used a gun defensibly once in my life. If I had that gun 'properly stored', I would not have been able to get to it in time to brandish it against the criminal who kicked in my door (and then turned tail and ran upon seeing Mr. Mossberg).
My dad never locked up his guns. He taught me how to treat and handle them properly instead.
'Proper' storage of weapons, like all other rights, should be up to the individuals exercising those rights. What is right for one person may not be right for another.

With every G-d given right there is a responsibility. If you choose to exercise the G-d given Right Then it would seem that you are precisely the source of guns
for those who are unable to legally obtain guns will use.
then choose to exercise responsibility.
Seriously, kiss my pasty rump. I would have been in the hospital - or worse - if I followed your advice. You are nearly as bad as the gun-grabbers in telling others how to exercise their rights.
Oh, and if I had used a cable lock? A thief could steal my weapon and cut it off and use it. It would render my weapon muchs less functional for home defense - in my personal experience (do you have any?) - but not bother the thief at all.
Now, do you want to also blame car owners for crimes committed when their cars are stolen? Or maybe, just maybe, you could get out of liberal moron mode and put the blame solely on the car thief and his cronies.
Have a wonderful journey on the wide road of life. Since you don't recognize that your Rights and
corresponding Responsibilities come from G-d,
I guess I'm speaking to a irresponsible anarchist
atheist.
Funny, please show in the Bill of Rights that I have a Responsibility to store my gun in a manner that pleases you while making that gun far less useful for self-defense in the exact situation I have experienced.
Like I said, YOU are the one parroting liberal dogma of telling people how their should limit their rights.
And once again, have YOU ever had to use a gun for self-defense in your home? ANYTHING can be stolen. That possibility should not limit how I decide to keep my gun at home. I don't have kids at home, and don't keep a round chambered to prevent accidental firings. Some folks decide to keep a round chambered. That is their business, not mine. And not yours, either. And the VAST majority of those people who keep their self-defense guns do not have accidents.
You really need to look in the mirror to better see the smug liberal jackass lurking beneath.
My home is private and no one is authorized to access my weapons except me and mine. If you have an open borders home you may need further security.
