The other advantage of the three month debt ceiling iterations is it stalls the economy and Wall Street, creating more pressure on Obama admin. IMHO I would use the three month debt ceiling iterations for the remainder of Obama admin.

Oh Great. The GOP planed 3-month extension adds, I'm guessing, around 400-500 billion in new debt. Oh sure that will surely embarrass and shame senate democrats alright.

"I wish they'd stop playing games with the debt ceiling," Dick Durbin said.

For once I agree with Durbin, for a different reason. They should never pass a debt ceiling extension; no more games.

House Republicans are learning they can't govern from just one house of Congress. But they can shine the spotlight on Senate and White House Democrats' inability or unwillingness to govern.

True, so they have to be smart about what they do, and possibly strategic. It may involve allowing the debt ceiling to rise over a few months, but any legislation has to be given a specific end date, and should also include subsequent cuts that are meaningful, and permanent! The Republicans need to be all on the same page with the legislation so that the MSM can't worm their way in among them to denigrate them with the public.
