I’m not a fan of the armed guards idea for all schools but the simple fact is that the secret service protects those girls and are very much armed even if the school isn’t.

I don't like the armed guards, either. They would likely be useless in a terrorist attack. A better choice is to allow teachers and staff who pass rigorous psych tests and training to carry concealed. In college, I would even allow students to carry who are licensed. The more guns in responsible hands, the less likely we will face a Baslan situation. Baslan - it is only a matter of when, not if...
