question for Texans who may be reading this post -
I used to do lots of business in the DFW area. I noticed that vitually all the Ford trucks were white such as GWB’s 350 in the linked photo. Even amongst the city cowboys living the image
So why white?
Just an observation.
Sunshine!
Want to see idiots? Look at all the poseurs driving black interiored German convertibles in sunny climes. Hot enough to burn skin!
I’ve noticed that Ford dealers around Dallas have separate fleet vehicle sales lots, usually within a block or so of the main showroom. It may be that the heavy-duty pickups are more readily available (particularly in “farm truck” trim) at the fleet lots - and they tend to just order ‘em in white.
A lot of owners believe that white vehicles don’t get quite as hot in the sun, so they are better sellers.
Racism.

On the next really hot day find a parking lot with a white car and a black car parked next to each other, place your hand on one and then the other then resubmit your question...
White trucks don’t get so hot inside during Texas summers.
It get hot in Texas the white reflects heat better than most other colors. The dust from the back roads doesn’t show up as much on a white or lighter colored vehicle.
Plus the paint is easier to match if you have to do a repair.
“So why white?”
High albedo vs. clear sky and sunshine?
