If the GOP caves it will be third party time.

What do you mean, IF the GOP caves.

It is a given. Go along to get along, otherwise the people who write blurbs for newspapers and TV opinion programs will point and laugh at you.

Not that these same people aren’t already pointing and laughing at you. Up to now, it has just been behind your back.

Not third party time. Secede and form a new nation time.

The blueprint is already there. Just separate the country by congressional district/counties between the “red” areas and the “blue” areas, and carve the Reunited States out of the “red” area. We get to keep the existing Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution. The little “blue” republics (and there will be a lot of them) get to keep whatevr set of cockamamie rules they want, except the right to emigrate to the “red” region without a very extensive background check.

I’d go vote for a Third Party, but by next election cycle i’ll probably be too busy returning fire...

Depending on what (if anything) they pass, it could be a lot more than that.
