Old Claybert (pronounced Clay-bear) was a hunter, farmer and worked at the sugar mill during sugarcane harvest .
Had to keep busy, had 9 sons and daughters, LOL.
He passed on when I was 3, vaguely remember him, big tall man.

How delightful you remember him! GOOD man!!! I vividly remember my Grandpa with the rifle even though he passed when I was only three. I have one of those excellent memories wherein I can take myself back to childhood to specific days and even picture what some of the folks said and were wearing. BTW, I had his rifle, until a former husband pawned it, unbeknownst to me. I divorced that bastard, and he dropped dead shortly afterward. Karma.
