Ps. Dad was of the Italian persuasion. After the war they took him and his cousin. But he did not have a ‘rabbi’ to get him in that I know. It was a veteran thing in 1946 when he joined.

Every on had a “Rabbi”, I did a very short tour in Armed Forces Police in NYC. The stories the the real cops told were very enlighting and cynical.
