MADISON, Wis. (AP) A federal appeals court has upheld Gov. Scott Walker's contentious law stripping most public workers of nearly all of their collective bargaining rights.
Good!
Walker court victory!
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
This. Is. Awesome!
Union thugs will most likely trash the state capitol again.
This is wonderful news!
.
” stripping most public workers of nearly all of their collective bargaining rights.”
They keep saying that and it isn’t true.
He evened the playing field instead.
Not much bias in that lede, is there? Sarc/off
Hurrah for a lawful judge! They are getting rare...
Good time to release it too, just before a three day public employee holiday which means at least half took today off too and the rest are sitting around talking about the upcoming ordination coming on monday.
VICTORY!
Collective bargaining is not a right, it is a privilege given to these whiny and serial malcontents by the state legislature. This privilege can be removed at any time....as this court case makes clear.
Screw the unions.
It’s nice when a court rules for capitalism and individual liberty instead of communism. It’s as if, at least here, we are headed in the right direction.
“Union thugs will most likely trash the state capitol again.”
Unlikely. They hired a new Capitol City Police Chief and the guy kicks ass and takes names!
DOUBLE VICTORY!
Typical “progressive” agenda reporting from AP.
A federal appeals court has upheld Gov. Scott Walker's contentious law...
By the way, notice how its only Republican-passed laws that are "contentious"? The scumbag Associated Press would never call a Democrat-passed law - - for example, a "gun control" law - - "contentious", now would they?
AND they thwarted the loon with the four molotov cocktails the night of the Governor’s speech. I feel confident we Taxpayers won’t be soaked for another nightmare like that 18 month period of ‘occupation’ on the Square.
I hope so, anyway!
I thought I could hear a distant, collective screech of defeat from the North (I’m in Texas.)
For decades the politicians have met in smoke-filled back rooms with union pinky rings and, with a wink and a nod, offered to give the rank-and-file lavish pension plans and lifetime retirement bennies IN LIEU OF big pay raises that would have to be paid for out of CURRENT budgets, and that might require tax hikes. But, see, lavish pension plans and lifetime retirement bennies, well... they get paid for out of FUTURE budgets - - decades in the future.
That is, the politicians buy their votes today with the taxpayer money of tomorrow. They just kick the can down the road and let future politicians and future taxpayers deal with the inevitable financial calamity that comes to bear in 20 or 30 years. "That'll be their problem, (shrug)", has been the unspoken understanding of the slimy politicians and their pinky ring union collaborators. Meanwhile, current taxpayers can shrug because, hey... their taxes didn't go up this year.
This is this kind of corrupt "negotiating" that politicians can get away with because, unlike in the private sector, they get to "negotiate" with other people's money. There is no "bottom line" or "profit and loss" statement, and no annual report to stockholders to worry about. No, when politicians "negotiate" with government employee unions, it's like the foxes negotiating with the coyotes over how to divide up the chickens in the hen house.
Anyway, in many states and cities, 20 or 30 years have come and gone. Now what?
Thank God for Scott Walker and a few other governors who have had the guts to put their foot on the can and kick it right back where it came from.
Especially those tax $$$-sucking public unions.
ESAD Union goons!!!
Public workers shouldn’t have collective bargaining rights.
That is exactly what took place plus millions in bribes and kickbacks were given to Democrat hacks who “negotiated” these sweetheart union contracts.
What? You thought they did it because they were nice guys? Altruists?
Nope.
They shouldn’t.
They supposedly serve the public.
Not to pick nits, but the right to associate is a basic right, not a privilege, of all free men. While some free men may choose to associate in the form of labor unions, some may not. What Walker has done is not limit the right of association of union members, but protect the right of association of those who don’t care to be associated with unions.
They're not "rights" or "privileges." They're *contracts* between the unions and the Employer (the Taxpayer). The Big Dig has been the Taxpayer hasn't had any decent representation on this side of the table and were (still are) getting raked over the coals with outrageous taxes to pay for these contracts. We still have a ways to go to ease up the burden on the Taxpayers of WI.
Waukesha, Cedarburg, Mequon...
Some conservative towns in SE Wisconsin are in the WOWS counties. That stands for Washington Co, Ozaukee County, Washington County, and Sheboygan county.
Sheboygan, West Bend, Waukesha, Ozaukee, Port Washington, Mequon-Thiensville, are a few of the cities.

Government employees shouldnt have collective bargaining rights. We should reject the use of euphemisms for government. Public schools are government schools, public employees are government employees . . . and society is not the same as government.
Common Sense
By Thomas PaineSOME writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins. Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness; the former promotes our happiness positively by uniting our affections, the latter negatively by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first is a patron, the last a punisher.Society in every state is a blessing, but government even in its best state is but a necessary evil in its worst state an intolerable one; for when we suffer, or are exposed to the same miseries by a government, which we might expect in a country without government, our calamities is heightened by reflecting that we furnish the means by which we suffer! Government, like dress, is the badge of lost innocence; the palaces of kings are built on the ruins of the bowers of paradise. For were the impulses of conscience clear, uniform, and irresistibly obeyed, man would need no other lawgiver; but that not being the case, he finds it necessary to surrender up a part of his property to furnish means for the protection of the rest; and this he is induced to do by the same prudence which in every other case advises him out of two evils to choose the least. Wherefore, security being the true design and end of government, it unanswerably follows that whatever form thereof appears most likely to ensure it to us, with the least expense and greatest benefit, is preferable to all others.
Well played, sir, very well played.
“what are the names of some of the towns in Southeastern Wisconsin that are Conservative?”
Everything between Milwaukee and Madison is quite conservative. Most of rural Wisconsin is conservative. Like most places, it’s only the cities and university towns that are strongly blue.
Check out the new Chief:

Looks like he’s going to kick ass and take names! It’s about time someone bitch slaps the ACLU.
I smell another Executive Order brewing.

Exactly right!
Walker. Wisconsin Ranger.
Wow! First time I’ve seen you post in years. I thought you got eaten by a black bear at the musky bar in Lac du Flambeau.
Stay more current, Diana, and poke your head up once in a while to let us know about your nefarious schemes. You northern Wisconsin women are impeccable and mysterious. I’ll be up there fishing for walleyes this summer.
Do you still eat chocolate fudge?
Cheers.
Praise The LORD!!!
Great article. I agree with you. I think he will be fair but a no-nonsense type of guy, which is way past due. Especially when the article mentioned how the protestors would follow employees around to their desks & distrupt their work. I hope there will be some head busting as well! RAT bastard liberals, socialists, & unions. Taking care of these bastards is way past due!
All Government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt
I’m in Port Washington in Ozaukee County. Quite conservative with scattered pockets of liberalism. I’ve got my dog trained to use those yards for his toilet. I clean up the mess of course. Even liberals in my neighborhood get my courtesy, whether they deserve it or not. And Beauregard earns himself a nice knibblet for his patriotic poopage.
That was actually the State of Illinois you heard - the get away state for Wisconsin Politicians whom do not want to work when it comes to pass a bill. Illinois is preparing its citizenry to go up to Wisconsin to protest in Madison. Since, if they protest in Illinois, Jesse Jackson will scream racism and want their guns seized.
Hi, Dave!
Yes, yes and yes! Thanks for all the nice compliments. :)
In the past two years I was promoted at work, so less time to screw around on the WWW. Fell in ‘love’ (or something like that) so now I have my farm and another to help run. Taking care of my Dad who is resisting going to a facility, so we’re doing what we can with additional home help for now, and just enjoying life in general...in my spare time. *SMIRK*
However, the chocolate stash is a little low these days, so feel free to send some my way! :)
