That substance could only be loosely described as wood. I did some MAK90 stock work for a friend. It was brutal to work with: parts of it were soft as butter and would dent with a finger squeeze, while other parts were hard as iron. All of it wouldn’t absorb stain. I had to paint it and apply a wood grain texture. My buddy loved it, but I’d never touch another MAK90 stock project.

Very soft and porous.
It soaked the stain like a paper towel LOL
