Years ago when I still believed that major media couldn’t ignore real news, I was surprised to watch Nancy Pelosi take over the House with her “Culture of Corruption” campaign against elected Republicans (2006 elections.)

After I saw that no so-called journalist even blinked at her chutzpah, and many sang her chorus, I gave up being surprised by anything that “media” publishes.

The saddest part of this kind of campaign by character assassination severely limits the pool of conservatives willing to go into politics. The end result of this type of voluntary abstention has/will turn our elected officials into replicas of union hierarchies. Ie: no alternative opinions will be allowed.

We will all suffer.

I pray for strong competitors to continue to fight against this tide.

As we have seen. But I do think Newt landed some blows on the media in the last campaign, and very much hope others will gird themselves for a much dirtier fight, now that the left has firmly established how low they will go. Conservative opposition research needs to get out ahead of their filth. The problem is funding it, since the left will use any dirty money from any source to do their deeds, while holding Republicans' feet to the fire of financial correctness.
