The last GOP rebirth began in 1993 at a conservative summit held at the Washington, DC Mayflower Hotel, sponsored by the Heritage Foundation and National Review, the day after the Clinton was inaugurated.
I was there, along with 800 pissed off conservatives. the next 2,500 people to try to reserve a spot were turned away for lack of capacity. All the names were there. It was who’s who of the Sunday talking heads. There was no internet, only online services, and the one I posted on was Townhall. CPAC was two weeks later, and even bigger. Two years later, was the election of 1994.
Maybe we need another conservative summit to begin plotting strategy for the long haul.
1. No foreign military interventions without a formal congressional declaration of war.
2. Oppose inflation.
3. Bring home the exported jobs, put Americans to work again, making money, buying things, paying taxes and voting GOP again.
