Do the people in New York ever have any peace from their fellow citizens?
Grew up in The Bronx and still live here. NEVER saw a school bus unless we went on a trip. Some of us went to Catholic School, some of us went to Public School. EVERYONE WALKED! Bussing created traffic issues, safety issues, unnecessary jobs, pollution, and has contributed greatly to a completely disfunctional school system. In the 60’s, neighborhood schools WORKED! We all got good educations, regardless of color, race or ethnicity. Special needs children need transportation. Everyone else is within walking distance of a school. Maybe everyone should go to THAT school.
