This is a huge disaster in the making, because selective abortion of females in both India and China is causing extreme demographic imbalance.
The end result is now estimated at 30 million or more “excess” males, who in addition to having no prospect for a wife, ever, likely will also never have employment. As such, they represent two potential armies.
This may lead both India and China to what is called a “demographic war”, fought almost exclusively with conscripts, their professional armies kept in reserve, whose sole purpose is to wipe out excess males.
Think the bloody trench warfare of World War I, except on high altitude freezing mountains, with small arms and artillery. Cheap uniforms and surplus rifles, plus one pound of rice a day per man. Except two or three times as many killed.
The alternative would be even bloodier civil wars in both nations.
China already experienced one such war, the Taiping Rebellion, about the time of the US Civil War, but theirs lasted 14 years. Fought mostly with swords and pikes, and some antiquated artillery, some battles resulted in “Five square miles where you could not set your foot on Earth, for the bodies.”
