This bill was brought up for vote in the Senate at 11:00 at night under cover of darkness. Ignoring a mandatory three day commentary period, they voted in this travesty in 20 minutes. The Assembly voted today, again ignoring the three day commentary. Cuomo signed it into law this afternoon. In all this thing was jammed through both houses and signed in less than 24 hours. This is what passes for democracy in neeorkistan. sd

Plus the fact that they 'worked' all this out in closed door meetings out of public view before going through the motions of a vote. All of their actions de-legitimizes what they did. They railroaded that bunch of nonsense through and there needs to be a fury of legal challenges to gum up their works.

holy crap, I just spent an hour reading it, only read about 1/3 of it. Skipped most of mental health and protection order family court stuff. The legislators would barely have had time to read it, let alone understand it or solicit input from their constituents. Truly a disaster for NY gun owners. But hey, if you are out there and need to get rid of your 8 shot shotguns or semi-auto pistols, let’s make a deal...
