Biden: W.H. readies 19 executive actions on guns By: Reid J. Epstein January 14, 2013 06:49 PM EST

The White House has identified 19 executive actions for President Barack Obama to move unilaterally on gun control, Vice President Joe Biden told a group of House Democrats on Monday, the administration’s first definitive statements about its response to last month’s mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Later this week, Obama will formally announce his proposals to reduce gun violence, which are expected to include renewal of the assault weapons ban, universal background checks and prohibition of high-capacity magazine clips. But Biden, who has been leading Obama’s task force on the response, spent two hours briefing a small group of sympathetic House Democrats on the road ahead in the latest White House outreach to invested groups.

The focus on executive orders is the result of the White House and other Democrats acknowledging the political difficulty of enacting any new gun legislation, a topic Biden did not address in Monday’s meeting.

“It was all focusing on enforcing existing law, administering things like improving the background database, things like that that do not involve a change in the law but enforcing and making sure that the present law is administered as well as possible,” said Rep. Bobby Scott (D-Va.).

But Biden did indicate that the remains of the Obama campaign apparatus may be activated in the effort.

“He said that this has been a real focus on the policy and that the politics of this issue, that a strategy on the politics of the issue hasn’t been undertaken yet,” Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) told POLITICO. “He did remind us that the campaign infrastructure is still accessible.”

70 - 80 Million gunowners in this country, 535+1

Consider the odds. Where should our focus be on being persuasive? Is it too much to ask every gunowner in the country to send a message that we dislike, in the strongest terms, what you are suggesting, because instinctively we do not trust you, any farther than we can throw the First Wookie?

So you call 2010 getting "more liberal by the election?" Your logic really is twisted, isn't it? I see why DeMint has given up.

So be it. With guys like you on our side, who needs enemies? Go ahead and walk away. Take your ball and your attitude with you.

Um....there is a big damned difference between what Mitt did in his state (what the voters in his state WANTED) and what Obama and the ahole Democrats did with Obamacare...which is ram it down our throats and force it upon us, illegally and against the constitution, when most Americans opposed and still oppose it.

You might be a duh-uh, sos leftie if you are unable to discern that not-so-subtle difference.

“Yes, because mitt romney never created laws that would put people in jail for not buying health insurance and he never, ever made gun ownership a felony. Nope...not mitt. He would never do something like that. Oh...wait...”

wow. i don’t know you and you don’t know me. but i have to wonder why you are being whipsawed for asking a simple question which has remained unanswered by your attackers.

i commend you for not getting angry. and i pray that none of us end up in “the ovens.” something tells me your not the kind who’d allow himself to *ovened* anyway.

and yes, contrary to others who are jumping on you, you didn’t start this rehash of an irrelevant election with no relationship to the current thread, others did. i guess for the purpose of disuniting us conservatives further. all of that is water under the bridge and no one can change that result except for our Lord.

and for the record i didn’t vote for romney, ultimately, because dictatorial power could have been vested in one, immoral (my personal judgement) man. that was finally a bridge to far for me. had he been running for a lower office in my district, i could have voted for him, with distaste of course.

may God bless and help all of us.

And how has the class of 10 voted since? How many of them jumped ship? What are their actual actions?

You might want to review the last couple two years of voting. Because if that’s what you’re hanging your hat on the results of your research will rain on your parade rather rudely. Sorry. I don’t make these things up. They are facts. You can go read the votes yourself.

And a little more research will show that a number of those turncoats came from GOP backed ‘TEA’ groups. Gee...I wonder how that happened...and why.

If you are just arguing to try and ‘shame me’ stop now. Not going to happen.

And you might consider that DeMint gave up because of all the ‘conservatives’ going gaga for whatever lib the GOP nominates this week.

Hard to think conservatives have your back after watching so many of them buy the MSM BS on
Cain (What ever happened to all the bimbo lawsuits after he pulled out?) Or Palin, who to this day is trashed with glee by ‘conservatives literally repeating the MSNBC line verbatim.

Going to deny that?

How about how during the primaries, excuses were made for every anti-conservative action of the preferred GOP elite?

How about the fact that people were literally glowing over Romney like he was Obama at the foam columns and comparing him to Reagan, a man whose policies he admittedly opposed?

Yea, thats the kind of people I want at my back.

Gonna deny that too?

We are close to being put in a position of having to act. I support working at the local level of governments that still work to get politicians and sheriffs elected who are on our side. I think it's a good idea to work at strengthening support at the local level while working up is something we should all do. At the same time we have to realize that we may not have time to get these things done. The leftist will not allow us to build up significant support without action.

Individuals and patriot groups should be using outreach campaigns targeting our military and law enforcement. Groups like the OathKeepers only accept former and active duty military and law enforcement as members. They have a separate lower membership for others who want to help with funding and outreach campaigns. The group has been putting up billboards outside military bases and are raising money to expand that campaign.

People should take a look at the OathKeepers website. We should use the way we each see fit to spread the message of the patriot movement to our military, law enforcement, and everyone else with priority given to those who most likely will be ask to enforce the governments tyranny. Informing local politicians is a good place to start in some areas.

I also think it's a good idea for those patriots who are the most knowledgeable about preparation to reach out to others in the movement to advise on things such as getting more affordable weapon, and getting the most out of what they have. Making sure people realize that things like food and water supplies are just as important is another big priority. I'm claiming I know everything. I was advised by some others who really made a difference on my preparedness even though I had the basics down. That's why I think it's important for us to strengthen our foundation by helping the entire movement. A lot of people are new to the idea after only waking up to what's happening recently. There are a lot who are arming themselves well, but not preparing at all when it comes to other necessities.

Thanks Dadfly. Appreciate the support.

The answer is I think, Guilt. They know what I posted is right. And they know that ‘we’ collectively empowered a dictator by electing people too unprincipled to oppose that type. That didn’t happen in one election. And we now have a House filled with proof.
They are unprincipled and we elected them. Simple math But I guess as Barbie said, for some, :Math is hard”.

To admit that is to take personal responsibility.

I contributed to it by voting for the GOP too in the past. And contrary to one poster, I am not proud of that and in fact, quite ashamed. But I won’t deny my mistake. Or continue to repeat it.

Others refuse to. Their choice. So be it.

Why would he use the number nineteen?

Possibly: The May 19th Communist Organization (also variously referred to as the May 19 Coalition, May 19 Communist Coalition, and various alternatives of M19CO), was a US-based, self-described revolutionary organization formed by members of the Weather Underground Organization.

yes. and i believe that our Lord will test us conservatives, to see if we are worthy to be His remnant. the libs are irrelevant at this point because, as you say, the responsiblity for this desolation is and was really *ours.*

i don’t think the others realize that yet. we conservatives are on trial now, not the corrupt statists. most of them are already lost.

God help us.

Well, considering her exact words were...

“The choice was between a soft tyranny - which held the possibilities of either a) being able to turn this thing around or b) patriots going back into the slumber they had been in up until 2010 and ending up where we are anyway; or the hard tyranny, with which there will be no compromises.”

The context dictates that soft tyranny was an acceptable option to her. If not, she used an awfully bad example. So I doubt quoting any of the men who directly opposed both and accepted neither will make a dent.

I notice that all the arguments opposing the GOP’s path seem to also oppose the founding fathers very words and intent in any number of areas. They were either wrong or they were not. Seems simple enough.

I never heard the quote as “Give me liberty or perhaps we can form a drum circle”.

Has anyone been calling Boeher or McConnel or ANY republican politician and asking them what they are going to do about protecting the Constitution, our freedom, liberty, the 2nd Amendment against socialist obozo?

I haven’t heard one damn word from any of them.
