Biden: W.H. readies 19 executive actions on guns By: Reid J. Epstein January 14, 2013 06:49 PM EST

The White House has identified 19 executive actions for President Barack Obama to move unilaterally on gun control, Vice President Joe Biden told a group of House Democrats on Monday, the administration’s first definitive statements about its response to last month’s mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Later this week, Obama will formally announce his proposals to reduce gun violence, which are expected to include renewal of the assault weapons ban, universal background checks and prohibition of high-capacity magazine clips. But Biden, who has been leading Obama’s task force on the response, spent two hours briefing a small group of sympathetic House Democrats on the road ahead in the latest White House outreach to invested groups.

The focus on executive orders is the result of the White House and other Democrats acknowledging the political difficulty of enacting any new gun legislation, a topic Biden did not address in Monday’s meeting.

“It was all focusing on enforcing existing law, administering things like improving the background database, things like that that do not involve a change in the law but enforcing and making sure that the present law is administered as well as possible,” said Rep. Bobby Scott (D-Va.).

But Biden did indicate that the remains of the Obama campaign apparatus may be activated in the effort.

“He said that this has been a real focus on the policy and that the politics of this issue, that a strategy on the politics of the issue hasn’t been undertaken yet,” Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) told POLITICO. “He did remind us that the campaign infrastructure is still accessible.”

The only defense these idiots who chose to either not vote in the presidential election, or voted third party, is that “Romney and Obama are exactly the same!” This is the only thing they have to cling to in order to justify their inexcusable action.

You know, I wish things were perfect to. I wish we had world peace, no hunger etc. But sometimes that just isn't the reality of the situation. We had a choice; Romney or Obama. We had three years to see the destruction Obama brought on our nation, with the promise for more. I chose to vote for Romney.

Does Romney hate free enterprise and small businesses? NO!
Does Romney hate our allies like Israel? NO!
Does Romney embrace our nations enemies like Iran? NO!
Does Romney support energy production? YES!

Now ask these same questions to Obama.

I could go on, but you get the point. The fact that these “Patriots” try to equate Romney and Obama is beyond dumb. I still cannot believe they saw Romney as a bigger threat than Obama. WTF!

“Yep, I’m so glad we didn’t get Romney......*Phew*, we surely dodged a bullet with him not being elected, why we might be talking about taking away guns or something....../s”

Oh cut the crap, the idea that he was anywhere near as bad as Bambi is the fatuous mumbling of unthinking fools.

Romney was far from perfect, he was the worst candidate we had IMHO, unfortunately he won the primary, and unfortunately for all of the idiot purists, he would never have gone anywhere near what Bambi did here, likewise for every single damn week we have to live (if we survive) the next four years.

No sarcasm here, just anger about the damned idiots on FR.

I am convinced that only civil war, an uprising of ordinary citizens, will rid us of this evil cancer. We cannot rely on lawful means. All of our institutions have been corrupted and compromised. We the People must fight.

Well, if you keep poking an animal or bird with a stick and proving him/her, don't be surprised if it comes back and bites you. I'm afraid our opponents do not understand that.

Exactly Norm.

The last two election cycles were about something bigger than the GOP and millions of our fellow Americans were more than willing to elect the people who are happy to horsetrade away our freedom.

Winning at any cost still has consequences and we see them every day in a do nothing Republican led House.

Look at what your ilk gave us.

You're a damn fool, and nothing but a fool. So proud of your purity and so damnably stupid. Look what you gave us. Thanks an effing lot, jackass.

But when I was driving along and heard that horrible purple-lipped Muslim Marxist goon going on and saying “well, there are some actions I am going to take,” I almost ran off the road because I was cursing so much. I was even surprised myself by my vocabulary.

You and me both. When he comes on TV, Mom mutes it or changes the channel. When he's on the radio on my Blazer, I'm glad I have a mute button on the steering wheel. I'm very surprised at my vocabulary too.

Thank you. I’m glad that others see it too.

Denying it does not solve the problem. Alcoholics and addicts deny their problem too. Once they admit their problem, they can fix it. But until people ditch the BS and admit what the facts show clearly and unarguably, we will remain hosed.

I guess you are not counting the NFA of 1934, which s just as onerous and unconstitutional as the 1968 act.

We must choose to give up, or fight to save what we can. You are right about not having any optimal choices, but some can’t accept reality. I think our best option will be a new union or alliance of states and breakaway areas within states brought together by an admiration of our founding fathers, and belief that our constitution is worth fighting for.

Anyone up for "The Allied States of America?"

If you have a minute to read this post about the movie Agenda: Grinding America Down, by Congressman Curtis Bowers. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2978142/posts?page=240#240

It details so many things I’ve learned on Free Republic but explains them so much better than I ever could. I saw light bulbs going on with my high school daughter when she watched it with us this weekend, she said, “I finally am starting to understand all the stuff you and Daddy talk about at the dinner table.”

Maybe if we share this video with many people then many more will understand the terrible danger we are in, and that the 60 year internal cold war within this country (that many did not understand we were in) is about to go hot.

Even to the point of the disunity they have promoted within the ranks of conservatives (by infiltrating the Repubs so that we are constantly infighting on whether to vote 3rd party, or vote for the lesser of evils, etc, etc. ) the main thing is the COMMUNISTS have divided US, BUT THEY ARE NOT DIVIDED!!! They have been marching forward like a well oiled machine,(or like an army of termites eating our foundations) under cover for 60 years.

We need to UNITE and FIGHT THEM!!! Pray for the men of this country to find their courage to stand up and speak out and stop being intimidated, and for the women to be supporting, praying for them and standing behind them all the way.Pray for us to figure out a way to DEFEAT the treasonous media, Pray for us to find a way to hose down and bleach out the school systems, to stop them from teaching communism and all the other isms (or my preference, to dismantle them).

Okay Norm, so what did your “Patriotism” give us? Seriously, you got the outcome you desired; what's the problem?

If you chose to not vote for Romney, you obviously weren't worried about Obama winning, and what that outcome would entail. So tell us, why are you bothered with Obama trying to take our guns through EO’s. You obviously weren't concerned with him getting reelected...so what's your problem here?

you're dreaming. Romney was every bit the man that obama is proving himself to be ~ and that's not at all good. i held out for him dropping out of the race and letting someone who could win run all the way to the last day that would have been possible.

But somebody else brought up Romney in this thread ~ not me.

BTW, Romney's own son says he didn't want to win ~ so there you have it. i was right. you were wrong.

Every time Bambi does something like this, and it will be every week, you and your ilk will be at fault.

Jack ass, thanks for the purity. Enjoy watching the country go down the drain, it's your fault for being so damn stupid and so gullible as to become an Axelrod conservative.

GFY

You don’t seem to like it. Why is that?
