The most astounding statement by Mr. Hannan in that video was that he was formerly a journalist. I can’t imagine an American journalist with his understanding of economics, let alone his willingness to defend true capitalism.
If only our current, former and would-be Conservative leaders were as half as passionate, informed and eloquent as Mr. Hannan!
Mr. Hannan is outside of the USA’s political-media bubble, in which most US politicians are trapped - so his thinking, and especially his phrases seem fresh and different.
I can’t imagine Our President, whom so many Americans seem to think brilliant, trying to debate with Hannan. I can’t imagine anyone more shallow,more ignorant, more banal than Mr.Obama.

Wouldn’t a Hannan-Obama debate be like Rommel’s Afrika Corps vs. the Little Sisters of the Poor, only with the moral compass in the other direction?
