Who says they shot first or, if they did, that they didn’t fire defensively in fear of their lives when the robber first displayed his weapon?
Given that it is Colorado, they probably left to avoid “unnecessary entanglement with Imperial forces.”
Anyway, bad night for the robber; shot (probably multiple times), bitten by a German Shepard (again, probably multiple times), and caught with the stolen property on him. 0 for 3. Needs a new line of work after his extended recovery in jail/prison.
