My first response to these wackos is always the same: Go show me the part of the constitution which gives you more rights than any other citizen. Show me the part that says these laws shall apply only to less equal citizens, not the rarified few upon high.
Go ahead, make the argument that these weapons are not ever usable in self defense, while your security details carry them.
To sum it up: You first. If these high capacity magazines are a menace, surely you’ll ban them from your own security first. If sexy rifles are only weapons of mass killing, then obviously none of your security has them nor access to them. If fully automatic firearms serve no purpose in defense, then you’ve obviously already banned them from your own security and from police departments...
No? What, you’re no longer citizens? You’re some special more equal creature that you can ignore the law with impunity?
