The Journal News and editor will be history & bankrupt after the 1st murder defendant testifies he selected his gun-free home to target from the paper’s list.
Unfortunately, that is not true. The way that the courts have interpreted the First Amendment gives a huge amount of leeway to the media to publish lists like this. You also would have significant proximate cause issues. The real issue is that New York allows access this information. Other newspapers in other states pulled this stunt (Idaho and Virginia for example) and State lawmakers quickly changed the law to make such information private. Good luck with that in New York though.
