This is the sort of thing that drives me nuts about today's national journalists: the surprise, the skepticism, the sheer insularity displayed here that comes from swimming solely in their exclusive little tank. These people are driving the country toward a Constitutional crisis and a possible shooting war and they are absolutely blithe about the thing. While they flatter themselves that their role has changed from reporting the news to making it, they turn out to be missing it altogether.
