I know a 31 year old that was so jealous of our 57 year old VP who is a 30 veteran pilot that we called “Captain Brad” that he refused to address him as such, proclaiming, “F*** him! He doesn’t call me anything special for all MY lifetime achievements!”

Yep, a 31 year old loser demanding equal status to a chief airline 747 captain.

I worked for a gentleman who was a retired Marine Corps Lieutenant. We called him “Lou,” even though his name was Gary. It was out of respect for him and his rank. Even as a 20-something out-of-college contractor, I understood my role in the pecking order.

Kids today don’t understand pecking orders. They think that simply by virtue of existing or having some vaunted piece of paper from a university that they deserve the highest of esteem from all of their peers.

It’s been my experience that most liberals who think this way are petty and insignificant and seeking some sort of validation for their existence.

I was at a conference a couple years ago where they had a break out session entitled, “So, you're at the middle of your career, now what?” It sounded interesting, so I thought I'd check it out. I walked into the room, and I was the oldest person in the room by 15 years, and I'm under 50. It was filled with 25-30 year olds, including the speaker, who looked to be about 28. Her PowerPoint slides, complete with numerous typos were hilarious. They were bemoaning the fact that “nobody takes them seriously.” I felt like saying, “maybe it's because you think you're at the middle of your career, when you're all just starting out.” I got up and walked out.
