As a practice Roma steal all the copies of books that say truthful things about them and you never get to read them. Some of them are quite interesting. Guess they never hit our local library 'cause the copies are there. Friend of mine was chief librarian of the main branch of the New York City library and he checked for copies there and they didn't have any anywhere ~ nor could they borrow them.
If you want your book about Gypsies to stay on the shelves you have to tell the story about Joseph Mengele and the Little Gypsy Boy.
I'm not repeating that story today, but you can probably find it on the net.
Amazon seems to have a few (some are *pricey*). The best review I saw was for one called Raggle Taggle written around 1929.
Ugh. I didn’t place Mengele (other than being associated with Hitler) until I googled it. Gypsies (esp Mediterranean ones) interest me somewhat. Monsters & psychopaths, I tend to avoid.
