Gun violence on Chicago streets has become such a concern that Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said today he's considering turning to celebrity mouthpieces like Bulls star Derrick Rose to try to convince residents to break the "no-snitch" code of silence that often impedes investigations into shootings in Chicago neighborhoods.
McCarthy said he has "spoken to a number of (celebrities) and they're all very interested" in becoming spokespeople for a campaign to convince Chicagoans to cooperate with police. He would not give specific names, but did say Rose, who grew up in crime-plagued Englewood before achieving NBA fame, is the type of star who might be able to get through to young Chicagoans.
Coming off a year in which Chicago saw homicides jump 16 percent to 506, McCarthy said he's trying to figure out how to get through to people.

You offer insufficient police protection, don't let them arm themselves in self-defense, and wonder why they cower indoors?
Why would he have to do that? I thought Chicago’s restrictive gun laws solved that problem years ago! Liberal utopia.......
The cops should just stay out of those “communities” and focus on protecting the taxpayers who pay their salaries. Those Democrat “communities” can fend for themselves, thank you very much. Why would a cop want to go in there anyway?

Utter and complete BS. McCarthy is looking for PR to make a run for the corrupt Chicago city council and lap up the big bribes.
Chicago cops aren’t stupid. They know who the bad guys are and where they live. Last summer, the Chicago cops invaded a neighborhood that was involved in beat-downs of civilians on Michigan Street and sent a dozen of the thugs to the hospital with severe injuries. Leaded gloves do a number on faces and rib cages.
Chicago beat cops are some of my favorite people. They are exactly what’s needed to take on Holder’s “peeples.”

Well, if your S&W Model 10 .38spl is not going through, try something a bit bigger. Like maybe .357 or .45. If you still think you are underpowered, try .308 that will get through most gang-bangers . . . even when wearing winter coats.
