I’m hoping sooner . . .
Red states need to start passing laws forbidding power generated within the state to be transferred to blue states who refuse to build power plants.
Let the commies sit in the dark for a few days and they will get a new attitude about power ASAP.
That’s great..../s
bump
And to who?
One example: twice-weekly coal trains I see rumbling through my part of North Alabama... can't prove it, but I expect they go to north Georgia power plants.
Yup. 500 broken families broken now.
Imagine is some hurricane or national tragedy happened wiping out 500 families ?
The media and politicians would be all over tv.
But when its the Kenyan Communist Traitor - S$% be upon him - silence as always.
True, but he also said in 08: Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Even regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad. Because I'm capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, you know, natural gas, you name it...
Hence he's shutting down clean natural gas plants too.

The story is a little different than the article he used as a source. I have done work at many of these plants. Some are outdated and inefficient. The epa is an ass, though.
I can't remember the last time our government was accused of being prudent.

On that subject, the manufacturing sector of Western Europe used to build their power plants to burn both oil or coal, whichever was cheaper at the time. This had a regulating effect on both fuels.
Uh, we went for Romney, as a state. Just for the record.
Or poke a wolverine ...
"Son, you don't poke a wolverine with a sharp stick unless you want your balls ripped off." -- Grandpa Vanderboegh.
Devil went down to Georgia,
He was looking for some plants to close,
He was in a bind,
He was way behind...
But....but....but.....I just bought an electric car, where am I going to plug it in? Am I going to have to drive to Alabama, or South Carolina or Tennessee or Florida and find a working electrical socket?
A few years ago an 80 year old rancher here in Texas was being hassled time after time by some rookie deputy. Just didn't like the old man for whatever reason and would pull him over on the dirt roads leading out to his ranch.
One day that old rancher had enough of this punk and shot his ass right there on his ranch for trespassing.
Like you say, someone, somewhere will decide enough is enough.
“It seems that the ..alternative energy system in the very near future for the folks in our state of Georgia will be lots of flashlight batteries.”
Yes thats what we are afraid of. We are buying rural property and installing either solar or micro hydro as a non grid tie backup. All appliances on propane.
