You’re right about HFCS. When I was a kid, soda was sweetened with sugar, not HFCS. Kids drank the same amount of soda but they weren’t fat. Now, non-diet soda in the US is sweetened with HFCS and there’s an obesity epidemic among our yutes.

HFCS is poison.

Yes.
I read all ingredients. If it has HFC, I don’t buy it. You can find many brands of bread without it.
It’s lab made sugar that’s worse than the ingredient it’s replacing , to save company profits.

There is a growing amount of data that proves the fructose triggers a glycemic response that is definitely unwanted. Table sugar (sucrose) is 50% glucose and 50% fructose. Your body metabolizes them differently and fructose triggers insulin resistance - thus the alarming rise in diabetes. New data also shows that the metabolism of large amounts of fructose also affects LDL levels (although, I’m convinced that since carbs create a craving for other carb laden and HFCS sweetened products which are usually loaded with hydrogenated oils - the LDL effect could be a by product of the other ingredients rather than the fructose itself). HFCS is poison and will kill us all quickly along with hydrogenated oils.
