Glad to see that Texas slapped this down quickly. It is as clear a violation of equal protection under the law as I have ever seen. Denying access to government programs to groups that the government wants to suppress is the very essence of tyranny.

“The decision 2 suspend use of these signs for similar future events in Houston was made in error by the district office,” a tweet from TxDOT read.
The tweet further detailed that the error is being fixed by the district office after it “emerged from the back of the woodshed, sobbing softly and rubbing its sore posterior.”

Driving the freeways of San Antonio, I passed many of these signs during the holidays. None of them said "Merry Christmas", "Happy Holidays", or "Happy New Year".
They all had rotating "Go To Jail", "No Refusal", and similar Big Brother messaging exclusively.

I suspect the reality was that some sneering supervisor at TxDOT made the decision and announced it, and *then* told the chief traffic engineer.
Shortly thereafter, when the chief engineer had climbed down from the supervisors desk after having stomped everything on it while screaming and cursing at the top of his lungs at the supervisor for several minutes, the supervisor decided that perhaps he had been too hasty.

Once we find out who these morons are, I hope they fire them. When someone "comes out of the closet" we shouldn't allow them to just fade back to the shadows. They need to be culled out of the taxpayer funded pig trough. They have shown themselves to not have the taxpayer in mind, but some insane mush from Feinsteinville.
I'm tired of paying my enemies. They will spew more vile puke months from now if not a week from now. It's in their DNA.
