What sucks is I’ve heard anecdotal reports of some of our better local gun shops, instead of putting them on the shelves, they are selling what ‘black rifles’ they get in on Gunbroker instead. I can’t blame them for going for max profit right now, but a local shop should cater to their loyal local customers first. They should just mark the things up and put them on the shelves.

Hell, at least Walmart is putting theirs out for folks to (QUICKLY)buy, without a markup. Heck, I was talking to the guy at the sporting goods counter at our local Walmart on Christmas Eve, and that morning they got in 4 Colt M4s(the good ‘LE’ models), put them on the shelf, and all were gone within 45 minutes. At least they are getting them in and not marking them up. The guy said they were ordering them daily, and have stepped it up on the quantity. I was fortunate to buy one back in November before the hammer came down. Still haven’t shot the thing yet. I could probably about double my $$$ if I wanted to sell it, but I’d MUCH rather keep it.

Never imagined Walmart doing better for the customers than the local shops. Dammed crazy times we are in right now......

The local shops are trying to make what money they can, in case the hammer comes down.

Walmart and other such stores really won’t be hurt one way or another, since their product line is very diverse.
